Intel Pentium M

This page will show all objects that classify as Intel Pentium M. The Pentium M has been made by Intel, a company that has been around since 1968 and is today's biggest processor company. They started with the i4004, a microprocessor for calculators and such, but got popular with the 8086 and 8088. IBM used that processor in it's IBM-PC and clones of the IBM PC obviously used the same processor as well. Thanks to this evolution Intel could find it's way on the market and develop successors of the 8086 all up to todays Core i7.

The Pentium-M has been Intel's top of the line mobile processor for quite some time. The 90nm Dothan CPU made it's debut on May 10 of 2004 and was released with frequencies ranging from 1400MHz to 2100MHz.

If I remember correctly the Pentium-M (roughly) equals performance per MHz with an Athlon64 S939. This means that a 2GHz Pentium-M would be as fast as an 2GHz Athlon64.

The Pentium-M is an efficient design and many parts of it are used in the Core 2 Duo. > Read more
