Based on the Cirrus Logic CL-GD5410-75QC-C chipset. In my test system it has terrible compatibility. As I didn't test other cards I'm unsure if this is chipset or system related. I a combination of it. Games like Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D didn't run properly on the Pentium 100 with QDI Explorer II 250DM. However, Wolfenstein 3D did run using the DX2/66 on Soyo 025N2. For the games that didn't really work, the rendering did actually occur but the VGA card output at 121Hz which my monitor (and many others) doesn't support. Using the DX2/66 I could not see the Doom benchmark running but eventually I did got the score so I included it in the benchmarks below.
I did not add the Doom benchmark in the list below because I couldn't see the benchmark running. Because the rendering did occur I got a score back: 27,6 FPS. This score is not so bad; it can't keep up with most ET4000AX boards but it's way faster than OAK's OTI-based cards or the old Paradise PVGA1A-JK.
In general I think the Cirrus Logic cards are pretty good. Especially in the Vesa Local Bus area; they did their job, cheap enough and can run Doom pretty fast.
The Octek card is revision 1.1 and also mentions EP20073R11 which might be the model number of the PCB. > Read more
