ATi 'Mach32'
The ATi Mach 32 was introduced in 1992 as 32-bit Windows Accelerator. This particular card has been fitted with 1MB RAM but can be upgraded to 2MB. In both cases memory will be accessed through a 64-bit memory bus.
I have only tested this card using MS-DOS. It performances quite alright, considering it's an old chip, but it's being surpassed by all (newer) S3-cards that usually offer better compatibility as well. In general it's not bad but if you can choose to get an S3-based card, Matrox Mystique 220 or ARK 1000PV-based card it's better to be left alone.
For obscurity reasons the Mach32 PCI wins however. I don't have statistics on quantities but I see S3-based PCI card a lot more around than Mach32's. > Read more
