AMD 'Shanghai'
In November 2008 AMD launched the 45nm Shanghai server CPU's. It was a refresh of the 'Barcelona' that were hampered with the TLB-bug and couldn't reach Intels' performance levels.
Shanghai had a bigger L3-cache and other optimizations. It also used noticeable less energy. Follow this link to see the Shanghai 2376HE (red bar) against the Barcelona 2356 (grey bar).
All in all AMD had chip that wasn't so bad but couldn't keep up with the then upcoming Nehalem architecture from Intel. > Read more
