Trident 'TVGA8800CS'
Also known as Trident Able VGA III. It's a card introduced in 1988 with 512KB. Being an early card (1989, the VGA standard was introduced in 1987) it can output both color and monochrome signals. The TVGA8800 is Trident's first VGA compatible chipset.
This particular card is equipped with the TVGA8800CS chipset that could address memory in 64KB banks (more chips with lower capacity). The TVGA8800BR could address 128KB banks (less chips, but with higher capacity per chip). I'm not sure but it could be that 64KB chips were more common when this card was new. > Read more
