Canyon GeForce FX 5900XT
As far as I know Canyon is a short-lived brand that produced GeForce FX and Radeon 9xxx-series cards in 2004. Usually following the reference design by nVidia or ATi in a sleek, yet straight to the point box to cut down costs yet providing the look of a premium brand. This GeForce FX 5900XT seems to follow that path, too.
The cooling shows an image of the GeForce FX Vulcan tech-demo which was part of the later GeForce FX 5900 branding. Beneath this cooler is an interesting detail: a GeForce FX 5950 Ultra chip. This was the flagship GeForce FX chip of 2004. It is likely a rejected 5950 chip that could not reach the high clock frequencies required for the 5950 Ultra but performs adequately at the lower speeds needed for the XT version. I have not overclocked this card but typically cards using a rejected high-end chip are capable of significant overclocking. Additionally, the 5950 Ultra chip is dated the 38th week of 2003 which is approximately a year older than the Canyon PCB.
I have cards, like this Leadtek WinFast A350XT TDH that use a correctly branded/marked GeForce FX 5900 XT chip.
