AMD Duron 1600

The middle of the last Duron-breed. The last Duron 'Applebred' came in 1400, 1600 and 1800MHz models. This model has the same clock-frequency as the Athlon XP 1900+ but less L2-cache enabled. AMD uses the same 130nm 'Thoroughbred' cores for the Duron (but gives it the name 'Applebred') to increase production yields. Each Athlon XP core that has a part of the L2-cache defective can be sold as Duron which the defective part disabled.
