Version: Demo
A DOS game that needs a Pentium-class (fifth generation) CPU to run at all. You can run it on the Cyrix 5x86, Pentium-class or newer CPU's.
The demo version, though being 3D-rendered, doesn't use 3D accelerators. In case you use a decent PCI graphics card this game is excellent for benchmarking CPU's. When comparing your results to mine please take into account that I used a GeForce 3 on AGP-motherboards. I noticed that using different cards like a seemingly less powerful GeForce 2 MX400 can get better results in DOS.
My benchmark method
I used the demo version and left every option on default settings. Before writing down the score I waited a short while for the score-indicator to settle down. Often the score-indicator would slow down one or two frames.Because the score-indicator can't display high framerates this benchmark isn't suitable for fast systems. Use it systems with CPU's from low-end Pentiums to Pentium-MMX, Cyrix 6x86MX or AMD K6. The screenshot below shows the MDK benchmark on a fast system on which the score isn't ideal.
Note that the 65 points for the Pentium 166 in the screenshot is acquired using a normal Pentium 166, not the MMX version (which has 32KB L1-cache, rather than 16KB)!
