The AMD A4 is based on the 32nm Trinity core that is part of AMD's Piledriver architecture. The CPU features an integrated AMD Radeon HD 7480D GPU that is able to run basic games of that era quite good.
For basic systems the A4 is very adequate. It's performance is acceptable for web-browsing, office and an occasionally game. Because the A4 doesn't need a seperate graphics card and because the CPU runs very cool it's easier to build from the perspective of a system integrator.
Currently I use this CPU in my mediabox for easy access to various media and Youtube on the TV. It works great and using the stock AMD cooler it's very silent. I've made a custom case of thin wood to house the ITX motherboard, a small form factor PSU and a SSD.
