A game from 1998 with lot's of graphical features. Because it runs great with 3dfx Glide and OpenGL I selected it to benchmark graphic cards. The cards that won't run in OpenGL are tested in Direct3D mode. Often OpenGL looks better than Direct3D with Unreal on older cards so I prefer to test with the 'quality' setting.
Notice that the 640x480 benchmarks are interesting for the lower end graphic cards like the Voodoo 1 that can only run at 640x480. For faster cards the benchmarks with higher resolutions are much more interesting because they stress the graphic card more. With low resolutions the (fast) graphic cards have to wait for data from the CPU. If the CPU is not fast enough this will create a CPU bottleneck causing the benchmarks to be not representative as the CPU plays an important role in the score.
I used the command 'timedemo 1' in the console. The console can be accessed using the ~ key. Run it twice or more to be sure you have a correct score. All the graphic options were left at defaults which means 'High texture detail'.
