All objects by Trident
Trident Microsystems established in 1987 and sold inexpensive (S)VGA chipsets. Performance was poor but due low prices they sold pretty well.
Eventually Trident could not keep up with 3D accelerators like 3Dfx. Trident tried with the Blade3D but performance and drivers weren't good enough.
XGI acquired Trident's graphics division to build the Volari V3XT. XGI also acquired SiS' technology for the Volari V5/V8 and VolariDUO.
