AMD Opteron 6100

The Opteron 6100-series are based on the 45nm Magny-Cours and are available in 8-core and 12-core configurations. Most models are released on March 29, 2010 which faster models following in early 2011.

Compared to normal x86 CPU's these Opterons are physically huge!

I have two of these samples which run at 1.6GHz. Production models (the high-efficiency models) start from 1.8GHz. For my CPU I guessed the production date of 0938. Looking at announcements, roadmaps and preliminary data this date seems plausible.
