I like this Voodoo2 PCI a lot :)

Besides the Voodoo2 PCI 6MB the Voodoo3 prototypes are pretty cool as well. I mean this card, this card and this card in particular ;)

Only VooDoo card I ever had was a diamond monster3D or something like that... and it was nice :D

35 cards in total, how large has your collection grown? :)

Nice collection and good quality retail boxes! :o

My database currently has 76 cards and one motherboard. Several new cards aren't added yet and I have a lot of duplicate Guillemot Maxi Gamer3D 2 cards which are not added either.

the 5500 AGP Rev.A 2500 was my first successful 3dfx card and it's great to be using it again, since it never let me down, the system is currently running win2K pro but tomorrow I will install 98SE on it again to full fill my 3dfx PC's old state :)

How's your 3dfx PC doing, still have it up and running?
If you are looking for a 6000, Eye-Q is selling his hehe

Nice configuration :Y).

I don't have a specific 3dfx-PC up and running. At the moment I have two i440BX-based systems with Intel Celeron / Pentium II CPU's. A faster 3dfx PC would be an ECS K7S6A with SiS745 chipset. This system is usually equipped with an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ but sometimes it runs with slower CPU's too (for benchmarking purposes for example).

The systems don't have a 'main 3dfx'-card. I just put in the card I'd like to run at that particular moment :).

The V5 6000 is still a big step so I'm not going to buy it now. Maybe in the future when my bankaccount likes an 6000, too :P.

Crosspost from Got. Basicly the card has something magic. Everytime i hold it it makes me wanna stare for hours lol! Hate the fact that i cant plug it in yet because of room-issues in my case. My motherboard only holds 2x PCI slots and basicly the NB/SB cooler (Nforce 550) is merely in the way to place this card normally. I'm figuring something out to put it in someday together with a second card.

Btw if anyone is selling their Sli-set, write me a msg or something :) I got a Magic3D 12MB 110MHz Card laying around with no brother to help him out ;(

Would like to run 3dmark 2000 again lol. My radeon 7000 scores 2500 on my laptop (X31 Thinkpad from IBM)

I don't have a VoodooII 12MB with 110MHz RAM for sale, sorry. I saw you mailed Gaming247 for his Maxi Gamer3D2 cards :o. He bought those cards from me in summer of 2004. I had 60 of those cards :P.

Nice boards! They both work in SLI modus?

12 January 2009 15:15

the 5000 AGP only works with SLI under 98SE hehe

but the 28 week older 5000 PCI does work under 98SE as Win2K heh no broken SLI under 2K where as the AGP variant does, dunno what explains this though.

here's the info tab of the 5000 PCI under 98SE

here's the info tab of the 5000 PCI under 2000 Pro
Image

For the rest the 5000 PCI has perfect 2D gameplay as movie play not a lockup in sight counts for 98SE as 2K Pro + SP4 :)

with 3D the scene has an odd twist. SLI does work under 98SE as 2K Pro + SP4 even without FSAA as with FSAA x2 and x4 in both Operating Systems, I get perfect image quality with Glide & OpenGL API's no tearing, no banding as no glitches.

under Direct 3D I get some banding but it does not stutter with all 3D modes like I did have with the 5000 AGP.

the thing is after 5 , 7 12 17 as 26 minutes I get a crash. such a random timing a crash occurs and this is both with 98SE as 2K Pro + SP4.

Underclocking the 5000 PCI to 100 Mhz is what Oscar dd but he has a Rev.A0 4899 and these ran 100Mhz in 3D and 143 Mhz in 2D heh , mine is a Rev.A1 0900 so these should handle 143Mhz no probs in 2D as 3D this was the plot behind it, but since my 5000 PCI Rev.A1 0900 has 5 incidental reworks it might explain it's problems, the 3dfx engineer that worked with it was trying to save the card by adding the reworks, but I guess it didn';t save the card to a certain point as the crashes tell, but hey it's acard with an odd history and that what makes it more interesting :)

here's the info tab of the 5000 AGP :)
Image

this what happens when trying to install the 5000 AGP under 2K as under XP I get the same issue:
Image

The same happened with my previous 5000 AGP as well, and even by adding that so called 3dfx PCI String in the win2K/XP drivers does not fix the problem, so I think the 5000 AGP's bios only supports 98SE I guess I dunno what else it could be.

This card renders Glide & OpenGL API perfectly with SLI under 98SE and no function under Win 2K Pro, odd thing is my previous 5K AGP did work in single chip under 2K as XP heh.
D3D API it does render okay nop tears , glitches as such but lots of banding and it's like watching dia frames, even in single chip, dual chip no FSAA as FSAA x2 & x4 and the reso didn't matter either, I guess all 5000 AGP's had their issues heh.

and if you'd like to know more about the 5000's go here ;)

It would be cool if you can find the engineer(s) who worked with these boards :).

12 January 2009 18:57

yeah but that would be very hard I guess since the AGP has no E-tag heh, too hard to go by I guess

12 January 2009 19:08

Difficult task indeed but you never know :P.
